Goblins believe that the deserts of Naïx are their ancestral homeland, thanks to the Sepulcher teaching that the land was once a verdant paradise corrupted by Muolih the Spreading Darkness. A variety of locations have been suggested for the goblins’ true home, from rumors of a Tomb of Muolih in the palm of the Dead Hand salt lakes to the vast valley of the Kanatb Depression. In any event, many goblins who can afford to travel will visit the many monasteries and monastic communities in the region. Their inhabitants, the Ananar (from the Layyian Goblin anana, pilgrimage) are diverse both in origin and doctrine but hold to a variety of celibate and monastic orders.
