The way I see it, there are three possibilities for where the magical meat that appears from thin air at feasts comes from:
1. Living creatures are immediately killed, cooked, and prepared. This raises some terrifying questions, not least of which would be a feast calling for endangered animals or “long pork.”
2. Magic is somehow fashioned into meat-shapes with bones and veins that serve no purpose other than to make it a more convincing facsimile. I’m not sure I want to eat raw magic reformed, especially if there’s a chance it could un-re-form.
3. The meats are already prepared somewhere and are simply transported. This raises uncomfortable questions of giant magical meatlockers alongside others of where a wilderness feast comes from–perhaps stolen from another’s table?
